The subject of the project is the development of an automatic control system for dam management in purpose to control the water level for the needs of the hydropower plant in Tokat, Turkey. The project includes the preparation of technical documentation, control cabinet automation and software which controls the whole process. Based on adequate sensors, the PLC takes appropriate action for inflation or deflation of the dam, in order to maintain predefined values of water levels and pressure in the dam. By using suitable HMI display, the user has a complete insight into current and previous events in the system as well as the ability to optimize the process through the appropriate screens for setting parameters.
