The subject of the project is the development of an automatic control system for dam management with the purpose of controlling the water level for the needs of the hydroelectric power plant in Ohio, The USA. The project includes the preparation of technical documentation, control cabinet automation and software that controls the entire process. Based on adequate sensors, the PLC takes appropriate action for inflation or deflation of the dam, in order to maintain predefined values of water levels and pressure in the dam. Through an adequate HMI display, which provides the user a complete supervision into current and previous events in the system as well as the ability to optimize the process through the appropriate screens for setting parameters.
